On two Saturdays in November, 68 Kuna High School students showed up with rakes, gloves and a serving attitude to help citizens of the Kuna community collect leaves and debris from their yards. The students raked 27 yards the first Saturday, and, because there were still more yards to finish, another 12 people showed up the following Saturday to finish. Thirty-three yards were raked in all this year, with a whopping 420 bags of leaves collected. Many thanks go out to The Home Depot for donating leaf bags, and to the KHS National Honor Society for their sponsorship. This annual event is a great opportunity for students to give back to their community and we couldn’t have done it without the help of Brooke Yordy, who organized this event as her senior project, and all the students, teachers and other community members who came out to help. Thank you.
