Ada County Commissioner Dave Case was selected Monday new Chairman of the Board in a vote by his fellow commissioners Monday.
Case, who previously served as a Kuna School Board trustee and Kuna Planning and Zoning Commissioner, as well as Republican Party Precinct Committeeman and Republican Party Central Committee Treasurer, was elected to the Ada County Commission in November.
After a private swearing-in ceremony Monday morning, Case announced the appointment of Larry Maneely to the newly created position of Chief of Staff to the Board, effective immediately.
Maneely is a longtime former Boise TV sportscaster with NBC affiliate KTVB, and served 5 years in the same capacity with a Sacramento CBS TV affiliate during his 25 year media career.
Maneely spent 12 years in international business as a partner in a food export trading company, marketing Idaho products around the world. He also served 3 years as Deputy Director of the Idaho State Liquor Division, and most recently, has been an account executive with the Idaho Stampede basketball franchise, the NBA Developmental League affiliate of the Portland Trailblazers.
“We look forward to Larry helping us make Ada County an even more transparent place to do the public’s business,” said Case. “We believe the addition of Larry to our staff will help enable us to be more responsive to the citizens of Ada County.”
A public swearing-in ceremony took place later in the afternoon where Maneely was introduced to those attending.
