This spring, the City of Kuna is planning to establish a COMMUNITY GARDEN for use by our citizens. The garden plot is directly across from City Hall on West Avalon Street and we are now asking those interested to please sign up at City Hall so that we can gauge how many of our people are interested in participating.
Land, water and seeds will be provided along with February classes on gardening, watering, composting, pest control, pruning, fertilizing etc. Classes will be taught by the Ada County Extension Horticulturist along with Master Gardeners from the Kuna area in February and early March.
Kuna High School has volunteered to start seeds in their nursery and the State Seed Laboratory is donating seeds for use by our community gardeners.
Please join the City crew in this exciting project as we learn the proper techniques of gardening in one of the best gardening climates in the United States. Signup sheets will be on the counter at City Hall and there is no cost except your time, labor and enthusiasm. Later in the season we will also offer classes on canning and food utilization. All classes are open to the public.
