KHS Grad ‘Nets’ $250 from Half-Court Shot

Kyle Burtenshaw from Pioneer Sports & Pain and Kenny Carver from Les Schwab in Kuna presents Travis Myers with the $250 check. Submitted by Karri Keller

Travis Myers of Nampa collected a cool $250 on Monday from two local businesses.

Manager Kenny Carver of Les Schwab Tires at 975 E. Avalon Street and Kyle Burtenshaw, D.C., of Pioneer Sports and Pain Complex by the Chevron station at Deer Flat and Linder roads presented the check to Myers for his performance several weeks earlier at a Kuna and Columbia boys high school basketball game.

“We had to race for a jersey, put it on and do a layup and then a shot from half-court,” said Myers, who graduated in 1992 from Kuna High School, where he played basketball.

Carver said the halftime competition is an annual event “but nobody won last year.”

For more information, call Carver at 922-4884 or Burtenshaw at 922-4908.
