Valentine’s Day at the Melba Valley Senior Center was a bit more colorful this year as four members of the Boise Chordsmen showed up to serenade Mrs. Ann Tomlinson of Melba as requested by her husband, Dave.
Calling themselves the Quarter Notes, they are one of nine quartets in the valley that go out to perform for private individuals and organizations on holidays like Valentine’s Day. Presenting Mrs. Tomlinson with a single red rose, the Quarter Notes performed three songs, acapella style.
They performed nearly 20 private serenades on Thursday. Part of the proceeds they earn will go toward The Salvation Army. The Boise Chordsmen also supports St. Alphonsus Hospital and Boise Rescue Mission with dollars they raise with their special performances.
