An overwhelming amount of support from the community and Kuna sports fans pulled together during the 2013 Football Banquet raising over $40,000.
The event on Saturday April 21stat Kuna High School commons was sponsored by the Athletic Booster Club and had hoped to raise $15,000 to purchase much needed uniforms, safety and training equipment for the KHS Football Team.
With contributions coming from a combination of auction items, donations, and meal tickets being sold, Kuna supporters filled the commons area of KHS to maximum capacity with more than 700 people in attendance.
Kenny Carver, KHS Booster club president said that there weren’t enough seats for the football players so they had to line up against the walls.
Some of the Auction items include a set of Toyo tires donated by Les Schwab of Kuna, a custom built Kuna Kavemen Sturgeon rod and reel, and a custom made Kavemen tool box. Auctioneer Chris Brown did another outstanding job persuading the attendees to give for a good cause.
“Rest assured, this money is spent with the utmost transparency”, states Head Coach Lee Leslie. Coach Leslie invites anyone interested to attend the budget meetings where decisions are made on what money is spent where.
Kenny Carver, Booster Club CO-President, said they are always in need of help.
“So few people are doing a majority of the work,” says Carver. “If you love doing a good thing in your community and supporting the KHS Football team on their road to a State Championship, the Booster Club would love to hear from you.”
