In Mountain Home, the Kuna put three on the board right away in the first inning, highlighted by Savannah Nell’s RBI double. Sophomore Macey Clark started a six-run second inning rally with a solo home run, and senior Aubree Newman added a double of her own. MacKenzie Callahan was 4-4 on the day with two stolen bases and three runs. Kylie Nell finished with four RBI on two hits. In the circle, sophomore pitcher Nicole Arizana was up to her usual tricks, striking out four Tigers and only walking one to earn the victory.
The Lady Bulldogs of Nampa visited Kuna on Saturday, and the torrid hitting pace of the Lady Kavemen continued. Arizana reached base four times and scored three runs. Newman was 4-4 with two doubles, four runs scored, and two RBI. Adriana Reyna was also 2-4 with three runs and a stolen base. The Nell sisters added four RBI between them. In the circle, Arizana dominated, striking out five and walked no one. Nampa’s only run came on a wind-blown triple that barely eluded the diving Kylie Nell. A groundout later and Nampa had the only blemish on Arizana’s scoresheet.
The Lady Kavemen travel to Nampa twice this week, to play Skyview on Tuesday and Columbia on Thursday. They will return for a home game at noon on Saturday against Bishop Kelly. Please come out and support this fun and exciting softball team!
