Plans have been submitted to Kuna Planning and Zoning for a major development on the northwest corner of Kuna Road and Meridian Road. Also known as “the curve” as one enters Kuna, this is the first major development project with commercial aspects in quite some time for the city.
Submitted by A Team Land Consultants, the proposed project covers an area of 52.92 acres and are calling it Merlin Pointe. The project includes 56 townhouse residential lots and a two acre park. Twenty commercial lots are also proposed ranging in size from .83 acres up to 6 acres although if large grocery tenants are interested, then fewer lots will be designated. A total of 6.5 acres of open space is to be used for parks, common areas and pedestrian pathways.
A May 28th Planning and Zoning hearing is scheduled to address the request for annexation and rezoning for the land. Employees with Kuna Planning and Zoning said that due to concerns from ACHD, who wishes to address road concerns, the hearing likely will be tabled for a future date.
