Jared Draper, 38, was appointed as the Melba Planning and Zoning Impact Area Commissioner at the April City Council meeting. Draper is the owner of Advanced Concrete Inc. and comes to the table with decades of construction experience and knowledge.
Draper started working excavation with his dad’s company and in 2002 branched out into his own concrete business. His company deals in residential, commercial and municipal applications. Jared says he is excited to join the committee.
Ron Mitchell, planning and zoning commissioner, asked Draper to join the committee and he will attend his first official meeting in May.
“I knew that he has had to deal with planning and zoning through his work and would have a different take on things from that perspective,” said Mitchell. “He is a good asset to have at the table, shedding a different light on discussions.”
Draper has been married to his wife, Leilani, for 15 years and has three children, 13, 11 and 9. They moved to Melba eight years ago from Nampa. “We like the small town and wanted to get away from the city,” said Draper. “We wanted a little bit of land and a good small school for the kids.”
