Last Saturday Ada County Sheriff’s Office and the DEA collected two boxes of unused or expired medication from the Paul’s Market location in Kuna. In addition, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and DEA took in a total of 18 boxes of medication countywide on Saturday, three from Eagle, and 13 at the Sheriff’s Office in Boise. At the end of the day, the DEA gathered all the meds up and properly disposed of them.
“We don’t look at what they are – we want people to be comfortable dropping off whatever unused meds they have,” said Patrick Orr of Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
“There is big potential for abuse of unused prescription drugs, especially by kids and teenagers. Medication not properly disposed of can easily end up in the wrong hands,” said Kuna Police Chief Justin Dusseau. “We are happy to partner with the DEA, to give parents and others a chance to get rid of prescription drugs safely.”
