If you haven’t been to the Kuna Senior Center lately, you might want to come check out the improvements that have been made. Our little store now has a carpeted floor instead of bare cement, the nurse’s room has bright new vinyl tiles instead of very old worn out carpet plus the office has new carpet. The flowers in our flower boxes are looking good with the help of the city maintenance crew making repairs to the drip lines.
Today I have a story to tell on myself. I’m sure many of you know what it is like to be in your car and you have an “oh no, I really have to pee moment”. That happened to me today so I walked really fast into a service station. Unfortunately, both stalls were occupied! Yep, I didn’t totally make it in time but at least my “problem” wasn’t noticeable – I don’t think it was anyway!
About 40 minutes later, my bladder decided to pick on me a second time, with no facilities in sight. Rather than flood my front seat, I hopped out of my car just as my bladder decided to let go. This time, my problem was extremely noticeable! Thank goodness I had some plastic in my trunk to cover my drivers seat with.
A couple of weeks ago we had a speaker at our center who told us that as we get older, symptoms of a bladder infection aren’t as noticeable as when we were younger. There is not always pain to let us know there is a problem. Tomorrow I will be calling my doctor
There was a time when this incident would have mortified me and no way would I have been discussing it with anyone much less advertising it in the paper. As I have gotten older, I have learned to laugh at myself and go with the flow. Yep! That is a pun!
At the Center:
SCRAP BOOK WORKSHOP: Do you have loose photos laying around that you just haven’t gotten around to putting into albums? You might consider joining some of us on Monday afternoons from 12:30 to 3:00 to learn some fun ways to create interesting photo pages. If you are already an experienced scrapper, we would love to have you join us for a time to work together and share ideas. Our center has craft scissors, die cuts, punches and interesting machines that are for all of us to use. FREE!
Bring your photos, theme paper, glue stick and/or double sided tape.
FRIDAY, 24th – Bingo from 11:00 to 11:50. Fee: 25 cents per card per game.
WE WILL BE CLOSED: Monday May 27th for Memorial Day.
