In the second game of their district tournament, Melba lost to New Plymouth Pilgrims 2-1.
Austin Warfield allowed just two runs on Tuesday at Melba, but Mustangs couldn’t get the offense going in a 2-1 defeat to New Plymouth Pilgrims.
Tyler Powell got the win for New Plymouth Pilgrims. He allowed one run over six innings. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered three hits.
Melba will be facing Marsing on Thursday, May 7, at 2 p.m. competing for the third place district spot. The third place winner will advance to the state tournament.
Mustangs top the McCall-Donnelly Vikings, 13-6
Mustangs rolled over the McCall-Donnelly Vikings 13-6 on Monday at Melba after an eight-run rally in the first inning to take the first game in the 2A District III tournament.
Devin Edmiston recorded the win for Mustangs even though he allowed six runs over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered five hits.
Mustangs hammered the McCall-Donnelly Vikings pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for eight hits, 10 RBIs and eight runs scored.
Mustangs closer Nick Talbot put away the final 13 outs to record the save.
