On 27 May, 2013, the American Legion Riders conducted a Memorial Day ceremony at the Kuna Cemetery. At this event a Memorial wreath was presented and placed at the grave of Dee Wayne Forrey United States Navy from July 1973 to May 1981. He served as a Plane Captain on the USS Ranger. During his time on the USS Ranger the ship was ordered to the gulf when Iran took the United States Embassy hostages. Dee Wayne’s mother Marylou Forrey, father Dallas Forrey, and son were present at the ceremony. Mayor Nelson of Kuna gave a speech on the importance of Memorial Day and a bagpipe player played the song Rolling Tree. The American Legion Riders of Post 142 of Kuna presented a flagline in Dee Wayne Forrey’s memory.
This was a second annual Memorial Day event that the American Legion Riders of Kuna has done and is planning on doing the same in the future.
