Dan was born January 12, 1961 in Reno, Nevada to Craig and Noella Kelly. After graduation in 1979 from Ferndale High School in Ferndale, California, he joined the United States Air Force. He was married to Lori Jean Patmore on April 18, 1981 with whom he had two daughters, Danielle and Emily Kelly.
While in the USAF, he was stationed at Kunsan, Korea and served seven months in support of Desert Shield/Storm in Saudi Arabia as an avionics technician. He also spent time in England and Egypt, although he served the majority of his 13 years of service at Mountain Home AFB. After leaving the Air Force, his other careers included being a corrections officer at the Idaho Maximum Security Prison, and a Lieutenant for a government contracted Security Company.
Dan had a zest for life and enjoyed doing many things including boating with his family and four wheeling in his Jeep. Music was also a big part of his life. He was the worship leader and an elder at Calvary Chapel Kuna. Out of all his interests, Dan’s relationship with Jesus was most important; and by putting God first, everything else fell into place. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Lori Kelly, daughters Danielle, 20, and Emily, 17, mother Noella Karl, and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 3rd at Calvary Chapel Boise: 123 Auto Drive, Boise, Idaho. Inurnment services will follow at a later date at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
