Corey James West, 22, was arrested early Sunday, July 7, and charged for aggravated assault after attempting to stab a man during a fight in the parking lot of Cowgirls in Kuna. Witnesses say that West was arguing with at least two other men before he pulled a knife and attempted to stab one of them but missed. The other man then hit West in the face several times attempting to subdue him while also grabbing the knife and tossing it away. The two men then restrained West in the parking lot until police showed up.
The fight allegedly started when West made sexually suggestive comments to a woman in the club who was with the two men he was arguing with according to witnesses.
West was arrested and booked into Ada County Jail around 4 a.m. after refusing treatment from paramedics. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond with a preliminary hearing set for later this month. Aggravated assault is punishable by up to five years in prison.
