Irrigation to be Turned Off Next Week

11:45 am August 15th, 2013

Kuna residents who use either pressurized or gravity fed irrigation water will have their water turned off on August 21 for the 2013 season. Due to a dry year, the overall water allotment for water rights holders was dramatically reduced this year.

Potable water that residents use for drinking and some for yards, those who have no access to irrigation water, will see no change.

Predictions of an August 23 shutoff were quite accurate earlier this summer when the Boise Project Board of Control upped the irrigation allotment from 1 acre foot to 1.4 acre feet.
