Born Lois Eileen Ralston on August 2, 1929 to Harry and Jesse Ralston of Ontario, Oregon, Lois was the beloved baby sister of Bill and Harry Jr. The family moved to Weiser, Idaho where her father, a pharmacist, passed away when Lois was 16 years old while both brothers were serving in WWII. Lois and her Mother moved to Boise where she attended Boise High School. Lois was involved in and competed in Dance and Skating which she loved. Lois graduated from Boise High in 1948. Soon thereafter she met and married Ronald Pursell and gave birth to two beautiful sons; Ronald Jr. and Jeffrey. Lois met and was remarried to W.R. “Swede” Godfrey on June 26, 1954. Lois and Swede enjoyed many years in Boise and Las Vegas as Swede pursued his career as an air traffic controller and they shared their hobbies; racing stock cars and hydro-plane boats. During this time Lois gave birth to her beloved third son, Reid, and only daughter, Kathy. In 1971 Lois and Swede opened the legendary “Redeye Saloon” in Kuna, Idaho and became residents soon thereafter. Lois and Swede were active in Kuna’s business community and politics and were known and loved by many.
Lois exhibited unconditional love to her family and friends and in return was loved and respected by all who knew her. She will be missed by many. Lois passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on September 10, 2013 in her home, after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, both brothers, son Jeffrey and great grandson Tanner.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 60 years, Swede; loving sons and daughter, Ronald Jr., Reid and Kathy; four lovely grandchildren and five adorable great grandchildren. May God bless you and keep you. We miss you.
