The Kuna City Council has four candidates running for office to fill two seats. Incumbent Richard Cardoza will be running again for another term.
Current city councilman Doug Hoiland will be vacating his seat. Eyeing that empty seat are three candidates who filed to run. One is Pat Jones, who most recently was multi-year chairman of Kuna Days. A second is K.C Maly who has been a resident for 8 ½ years.
“I want to be more involved in the community and give a little back,” Maly said when we spoke to him this week.
The third new candidate vying for one of the two seats is Warren Christensen, a 23 year resident.
“I grew up with the city,” said Christensen. “I have a young family and I want it to remain the kind of a great place that I grew up in.”
The two candidates with the most votes in the election will fill the two city council seats up for grabs.
Kuna Melba News will publish an election guide with candidate questionnaire in October before the November election.
