At the October 15, 2013, Kuna City Council Meeting a public hearing was held for citizens and interested parties to comment on whether or not the city should pay off the $258,595 LID lien for the 20.164 acre Kuna-75 property on Deer Flat Road. There were no public comments offered and the council unanimously agreed to pay off the lien.
In other news, a resolution was passed increasing irrigation assessment fees by 2.1 percent. According to city engineer Gordon Law, this will amount to about a $2 difference on the annual bill for residents. The council also amended the policies increasing fines from $35 to $100 for water meter tampering.
City Treasurer John Marsh gave the council good news saying that as a result of changes due to Obamacare, the city will receive a 1.4 percent reduction in monthly insurance premiums.
