Crafty Critters ‘Go Wild’ at Western Idaho Fair

From August 15-20th, Crafty Critters 4-H members participated in the 2013 Western Idaho Fair (WIF).  The fair was the result of months of effort by club members with the support of club supervisors, family members, and the community.

The club members were quite successful in their 4H and FFA projects at WIF.  Award winners included: Goat: Kristin Nesbitt, 3rd place Senior Showman & Champion Boer Doe in Quality.  Beef: Isaiah Twait, Grand Champion Novice Showman.  Janine Johnson, Grand Champion Intermediate Crossbred Heifer.  Swine: Kyleigh Davis, Reserve Champion Junior Showman.  Blake Phillips, Reserve Champion Intermediate Showman.  Sheep: Kristin Nesbitt, 1st Place Ultrasound.  Brett Wilder, 2nd Place Pen of 2.  Matthew Twait, 3rd Place Rate of Gain.  Josie Gregg, Reserve Grand Champion Junior Showman.  Shelby Johnson, Grand Champion Novice Showman.  Isaiah Twait, Reserve Grand Champion Novice Showman.  Dairy: Justin Nesbitt, Reserve FFA Dairy Showman and 2nd Place Senior Dairy Heifer.  Kristin Nesbitt, Reserve Senior Dairy Showman.  Siera Horton, 1st Place Senior Dairy Heifer and Best of Breed.  Christina Schram, 3rd Place Senior Dairy Heifer.  Noe Carlson, Best of Breed Crossbreeds, GC Crossbreed Yearling and GC Crossbreed Overall.  Round Robin: Justin Nesbitt, Round Robin & Super Round Robin FFA Grand Champion.  Kristin Nesbitt, 3rd Place Senior Round Robin & Super Round Robin 4-H Grand Champion.  Kyleigh Davis, 3rd Place Junior Round Robin.  Judging:  1st Place Team Senior Livestock, Mikaela Twait, Justin Nesbitt, Kristin Nesbitt, Janine Johnson.  Christina Schram, 2nd Place Individual Senior Livestock.  Janine Johnson, 3rd Place Individual Senior Livestock.  1st Place Team Junior Livestock, Matthew Twait, Mitch Bettia, Jake Bettia, Caleb Twait.  2nd Place Team Junior Livestock: Isaiah Twait, Colin Steppe, Katie Steppe, and Ashton Shaul.  Jake Bettia, 1st place Individual Junior Livestock.  2nd Place Team Junior Dairy, Matthew Twait, Mitch Bettia, Jake Bettia, Caleb Twait.  Kyleigh Davis, 1st Place Individual Junior Dairy.  Noe Carlson, 3rd place Individual Intermediate Dairy.  Other:  Mikaela Twait & Katelyn Renn, Best of Project for Individual & Handiwork for Our Heritage Quilts.  Glen Gray FFA Award, Justin Nesbitt.  Brett Wilder & Christina Schram, Best of Project for Leadership.  County Award for Project Books: Dairy, Christina Schram, Kristin Nesbitt; Sheep, Hannah Smith, Caleb Twait, Elizabeth Renn, Kristin Nesbitt; Goat: Mikaela Twait; Beef: Mitch Bettia; Swine: Janine Johnson, Brock Phillips.  Thank you to the buyers, volunteers, supporters, and the WIF for another great year.
