THE Kuna Gold Band and Guard hosted the inaugural Kuna Marching Invitational on Saturday October 26th. Bands Melba, Cambridge, Ontario, Meridian, Skyview, Middleton, Rocky Mountain, Boise and Eagle all came to compete in this event. Kuna Middle School was a guest at the competition and they opened by playing the National Anthem. There were many vendors and sponsors that helped make this event possible. Thanks to Mountain Land Physical Therapy, Advanced Family Medicine, Pioneer Sports and Pain Center, Custom RX, Kuna Chiropractic, Idaho Dairy Council, Kuna Counseling Center, Callis Chiropractics, and EmbroidMe. We would also like to thank Paul’s Market for donating food, Linder Farms and Rocky Mountain Steel for donating materials, Cavalcade USA for sponsoring trophies, as well as Rehab Authority, American Family Insurance, Black Canyon Popcorn and BSU Athletic Office, and Comet Cleaners. And a special thanks to the Boise Police Department and most importantly, the members of our community who have made so many wonderful comments and given support to our fundraising efforts.
The competition was a success, and it was a great and unique opportunity for the band. We look forward to hosting the KMI again next year, hopefully with more bands participating.
The band is preparing to go to Bands of America Regional Competition on November 1st in St. George, Utah. We will be leaving early in the morning and gone for the weekend. We are all proud of the work we have done this season, and we are excited to be going to St. George to compete. This is an opportunity that is new to Kuna and we are all looking forward to being a part of it.
