After a series of news-breaking accidents in Boise involving bicycle fatalities it was a shock on Tuesday morning to hear about a 9-year-old boy in Kuna that was hit by an SUV while on his way to school. AT around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning near the corner of Linder and Deer Flat Roads a boy was knocked off his bike by an SUV going about 5 miles per hour according to Kuna Police.
Witnesses say the boy was riding his bike on the sidewalk northbound on Linder Road when he darted across a driveway leading into several businesses. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out but did not appear to have suffered any major injuries. According to Kuna Police, the driver of the SUV will not be cited in connection with the crash.
A Kuna police officer gave the boy a helmet to use the next time he rides his bike.
