A 9-year-old boy knocked off his bike by an SUV on Linder Road early Tuesday morning did not appear to suffer any major injuries.
The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a local hospital to be checked out.
Witnesses told Kuna Police the boy was riding his bike northbound on Linder Road (on the sidewalk) when he darted across a driveway leading into several businesses on the southwest corner of Linder and Deer Flat roads around 7:30 a.m.
The SUV had been going southbound on Linder and was turning into the driveway when it hit the bike. The SUV was going about 5 mph when it hit the bike — but the impact did cause the boy to fall off and hit his head.
Kuna Police will not be citing the driver of the SUV in connection with the crash.
The boy was on his way to school when the crash occurred.
A Kuna police officer gave the boy a helmet to use the next time he rides his bike.
