The City of Melba has installed new restrooms at Melba City Park. The prefabricated building was delivered complete with stainless steel fixtures and flush toilets. The building is pre-wired and pre-plumbed for installation of utilities. The new restroom complies with Americans with Disabilities Act.
The project was funded through a USDA-Rural Development Economic Impact Initiative Grant and generous donations from Valley Wide Co-op/Valley Agronomics, Land ‘O Lakes, Inc., Daystar Excavation, LLC and the City of Melba.
Water and sewer lines will be installed at a later date. There will also be cement walkways installed around the structure for easier access.
Use of the Park has grown since construction of the existing restrooms in 1970. Melba Little League, Southwest District Health Free Lunch program and Melba High School Softball use the Melba Park throughout Spring and Summer, as well as other civic organizations and area families that use the park for special events.
The new restrooms will serve the community needs as well as bring our public facility into A.D.A compliance. We are very excited about the new facility and hope the citizens of the surrounding community appreciate the efforts of the individuals and groups involved.
