Melba Cross Country
Melba cross country ran in their final meet of the season before heading off to the state meet in Idaho Falls. The Lady Mustangs ran away from the field to finish first place in the District meet by 48 points over second place McCall-Donnelly. Melba’s scoring runners placed all five in the top 13 positions to secure first place and a qualifying spot in the state meet. The Mustangs will meet up with tough competition in the 2A classification but are expected to do well. The boys team will also be represented by Rylan Manzer and Cody Svedin who qualified individually.

Marsing edged out Melba 41-30 in last week’s matchup. Melba jumped out early on a 77 yard run by Manny Medrano and a 52 yard pass from Danny Talbot. Marsing answered with a short run followed by another Melba 22-yarder from Medrano. At the end of the first, it was 21-14 Melba. Melba managed to hold on to the lead during the second quarter putting up a field goal to Marsings one additional touchdown. Unfortunately, Marsing put up 20 more points in the second half matched only by a touchdown with the extra point not being good.

At the district tournament last week Skyview managed to come out on top over Bishop Kelly. Kuna was gunning for third place but was edged out of a state tournament bid by Middleton 3-1. Leading Kuna was Allison Law with eight kills and Nikole Cook had 18 assists while Rebekah Farris had 18 digs and two aces.
