Ivan D. “Pete” Green, 84, of Kuna, Idaho, passed away on November 11, 2013 at St. Luke’s Meridian.
Ivan was born on March 7, 1929 in Boise, Idaho to Coleman and Ruth Green. He attended school in Meridian, ID., graduating from Meridian High School. He served in the army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean conflict as a cook. Ivan married the love of his life December 4, 1955; Mary Jean Koch of Kuna, ID. They bought a farm in Kuna where they resided for 58 years. During their marriage, they were blessed with three wonderful sons, Kelly, Tim and Jerry.
“Pete” was a dairy farmer and farmed until retirement. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, hunting, playing pinochle and collecting hats for his hat collection. He enjoyed going south during the winter as a snowbird. His pride was his 1955 Chevy pickup which he enjoyed restoring. He loved enjoying time with his family. He was a member of Kuna Kaveman Travelers, Good Sam’s of Kuna and attended Ten Mile Community Church faithfully.
“Pete” is survived by his wife Mary Jean Green of Kuna, ID., three sons; Kelly and (Joyce) Green of Kuna, ID., Tim and (Sandy) Green of Boise, ID., and Jerry and (Martha) Green of Kuna, ID., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren with one on the way, one brother; Bill and (Patsy) Green of San Clemente, CA., one sister; Pat and (Ted) Lewis of Meridian, ID., numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and one sister. Sister Mary Neff passed shortly after him on November 11, 2013.
A funeral service will be held for Ivan on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 11:00 am at Ten Mile Community Church located at 4440 East Columbia Road.
