Karl G. Brown of Nampa died October 29, 2013, at a local hospital. Karl was born December 3, 1929 in Hailey, Idaho to Garmon F. and Elsie L. Brown.
He grew up in Carey, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1948. Karl served in the army from August 1948 through May 1952, serving in the Corps of Engineers in Korea from August 1950 through August 1951.
Karl married Shirley Swinney of Murphy, Idaho, on October 7, 1951. Karl has been a mechanic all his life, having worked at a Caterpillar dealership, on heavy construction equipment, as well as having his own repair shop.
Karl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley J. Brown; son, Randy K. Brown and daughter-in-law, Nancy Brown; daughters: Peggy L. Smith and Lisa K. Brown; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister and brother-in-law, Caroll E. and Bob Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with military honors was held Wednesday, November 6th at 12:00 PM at Ten Mile Community Church, 4440 E. Columbia Road, Meridian, Idaho. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karl’s name to Ten Mile Community Church.
