Kuna Grange recently hosted District 22 Legislators at an open meeting last week. Senator Russ Fulcher, Representative Jason Monks, and Representative John VanderWoude shared their insight on some of the possible topics or resolutions that may be proposed in the 2014 Legislative Session starting in January. Don Johnson, Kuna Grange Legislative Director, was the facilitator for the evening.
Increased funding for Transportation Department, salary schedule for teachers, technology funding, 2014 Idaho Initiative for Secondary Agriculture Education, recent Land Board decisions on real property exchanges, and over sight proposed requirements were a few of the topics discussed.
There were several questions asked from members of the audience that required answers from all of the legislators.
An announcement was also made by Kuna Granger Don Johnson, that Kuna Grange would be receiving recognition of being a Distinguished Grange for four years in a row at the National Grange Convention in New Hampshire this month. Kuna Grange is one of only seven Granges to be recognized nation-wide for this honor and the only Grange in Idaho to receive this recognition four years in a row.
