Recovery continues with Boone Bartlome at Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado. In recent weeks a video of him moving his thumb was posted by his family. Further surgeries have occurred and the family says that it was successful and allowing him to continue his regular therapy program.
He isn’t confined to his room, however. With a new wheelchair, he had an outing to a local mall and was able to attend a Denver Bronco football game. Early in the month Boone got a visit at his Denver hospital from NFL player Doug Plank. Plank spent 8 years with the Chicago Bears. Plank spoke at the recent Kuna Football Banquet where Boone was able to Skype in and speak to all the families and players.
Support from the community is still mving forward. Bishop Kelly High School presented a $1,500 check last week that was raised by having a “jean” day, if the students paid $2 they could wear jeans to school. Stinker Stations and Sinclair sponsored the Boone t-shirts, and they continue to be available at the Boot Barn on Franklin in Boise. Paul’s Market in Kuna donated $6,700 to Boone raised from a silent auction recently.
