Fall has been a busy season for the Crafty Critters 4H members. Some activities this fall have included Rake up Boise, Bingo with the Veteran’s, Thanksgiving baskets, and we also had some members participate in the Eastern Idaho State Livestock Judging competition with great success!
In September, a team of Crafty Critters, which included Justin Nesbitt, Kristin Nesbitt, Mac Landreth, and Christina Schram, placed 2nd at the Eastern Idaho Livestock Judging competition and will be going to Denver to compete on a National level. We wish them great success. On November 16th, Crafty Critters participated in Rake up Boise and although the leaves were under snow, that didn’t stop our Crafty Critter members from being able to help four families with their fall clean-up. After that, it was off to pizza to warm up and get ready for Bingo with the Veterans. Bingo with the Veteran’s is one of Crafty Critters most popular events. It is an honor to visit the Veteran’s home and play bingo with some of our nation’s heroes. We had 27 members and 13 parents participate in this fun-filled event. Crafty Critters also sponsored Thanksgiving baskets and were able to help in assisting over 75 families of underprivileged children at Horizon Elementary School.
Crafty Critters members had an amazing year and it would not have been possible without the support of many people. At this time, we would like to take the opportunity to thank our area-wide club leaders, parents, University of Idaho Ada and Canyon County Extension Offices, Western Idaho Fair, Canyon County Fair, United Dairymen of Idaho, the buyers of our projects, and the many others who have helped 4H clubs in Idaho.
