Hundreds of residents stood in the cold last Saturday night along Main Street in Kuna waiting for the Parade of Lights. Anticipation gave way to smiles as the brilliantly lit up floats rounded the curve at Bernie Fisher Park. Bringing up the rear was the man with the wheelbarrow who followed the horses and longhorns.
The annual parade put on by the Kuna Chamber of Commerce and Christmas tree lighting afterwards in the park was the highlight of the community after several months of what seems like bad news.
The grand prize winning float was the City of Kuna’s Operation Lifesaver Train. First place was the Lawrence Morgan Longhorns with second going to the Girl Scouts Service Unit #57. Third place went to Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho Megan Charrier and Miss Little Bit Rodeo Idaho Maycn McCullough.
The grand prize winners will get their name on a travelling plaque and will keep it until next year. This year’s plaque will reside at city hall.
