Blanche Evelyn Kuhlman, a long-time resident of Kuna, ID died Dec. 26, 2013 in Nikiski, AK at the age of 97. She was the daughter of the late Charles Warren Foote and Clara Edna Rockwell Foote. She was preceded in death by her first husband (Arnold Clyde Edgerton), her second husband (Wayne LeRoy Kuhlman) and by six siblings: Velora (George) Timms, Marjorie (Frank) Crawford, Charles (Sammy) Foote, Kenneth (Georgia) Foote, Mildred (John) Bills, Ralph (Edna) Foote, and Harry (Rena) Foote. She is survived by: her daughter, Sharon (Bill [deceased]) Brower; her son, Lee (Melinda) Edgerton; and four grandchildren. They include Scott (Dawn) Brower, Trish (Ron) McFarlin; Tracy (Paul) Wagner, Chris (Becky) Edgerton and “adopted” grand-daughters Stefani (Chris) Carter and Sarah Plagge. Great grandchildren include Anthony Brower, Jordan Brower, Marissa Wagner, Patience Wagner, Brooke Edgerton, Chelsea Plagge and Cameron Plagge.
Blanche obtained two-year teaching credentials from Albion Normal School and completed her Bachelor’s degree from the College of Idaho in 1959. She taught for a total of 22 years in elementary and secondary schools and took great pleasure in interacting with former students.
She was an active member of Rob Morris Chapter 63 of Eastern Star, Kuna Grange, and the Kuna United Methodist Church. In addition to numerous recognitions in these organizations she served as Grand Marshall for the Kuna Days Parade in 2008.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00PM on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Accent Funeral Home, 1303 N. Main St., Meridian and from 11:30-12:30PM on Monday at the church, prior to the service. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Kuna United Methodist Church, 260 West 4th Street, Kuna. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Kuna Cemetery.
