Twelve members from the Crafty Critters 4-H Club received special recognition at the 2013 Ada County Recognition Night. Additionally, Crafty Critters was honored by being one of three Star 4-H Clubs in Ada County.
The five Crafty Critters who were awarded Overall Outstanding County Awards in Agriculture were: Kristin Nesbitt, Christina Schram, Mikaela Twait, Janine Johnson and Hannah Smith. Zack Davis was recognized for Citizenship and Christina Schram was recognized for Leadership. These awards were given to members who have done extremely well in their projects and 4-H careers as well as have superior record books.
Six members were awarded Star 4-Her Awards. There are three levels in this award: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Applicants are evaluated for their overall 4-H participation, club involvement and activities on local, county, state, district and national levels. Members earning Silver Awards were Noe Carlson, Katelyn Renn and Elisabeth Renn while Justin Nesbitt, Kristin Nesbitt and Christina Schram earned Gold Awards.
The two Crafty Critters members who received the Idaho 4-H Key Award were Kristin Nesbitt and Christina Schram. The goal of this award is to encourage project growth, the broad program of 4-H activities, the development of outstanding citizens and recognizes those who have achieved significant leadership in their club and community.
Christina Schram received the “I Dare You” Leadership Award. This award recognizes two high school juniors who are selected based on personal integrity, balanced living and a potential for leadership. They are the emerging leaders with motivation and promise who are striving to truly make the best better.
Christina Schram also won the Ada County Leader’s Association Wristwatch Award as the Outstanding 4-H Member in Ada County. This award is presented to the individual who exhibits outstanding achievement as well as exceptional 4-H contest participation, activity participation, leadership and project participation.
