Nicole Lee Kirtley, 34, has agreed to a plea bargain with Canyon County Prosecutors in the death of George Richardson, Jr. on February 7, 2013. Charged with second-degree murder and grand theft with Richardson’s death, Kirtley has accepted a deal by pleading guilty to a charge of manslaughter, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and destruction of evidence. The charge of grand theft of Richardson’s Jeep was dropped as part of the agreement.
Kirtley is scheduled to be sentenced in the Third District Court by Judge George Southworth on April 1 and prosecutors recommend that she serve between nine and 30 years.
Reports say that Kirtley left a Nampa bar after midnight with Richardson and ended up at his house. Surveillance video shows that Kirtley was driving Richardson’s Jeep with him as the passenger. According to witnesses, a woman matching Kirtley’s appearance was seen the next morning driving away from Richardson’s house in his Jeep. Later the Jeep was found in the Snake River with a rock on the acceleration pedal.
According to an affidavit filed with the court, Kirtley allegedly admitted to an inmate while in custody that she killed Richardson saying she “wasn’t going to raped again.”
