Did you think last year’s wrestling team was good? Take a look at this year’s team. The Kuna High School wrestling team has taken the number one spot in team 4A standings in Idaho beating out Bonneville, Columbia, Nampa and Pocatello. Last week we reported that the team broke into the top 50 in nationally ranked teams. This week they moved up to 44th place on the InterMat Wrestling rankings. Individually, there are some superstars on the team.
Ranked first in their weight categories are freshman Brady Barroso (106), senior Casey Cobb (120), senior Michael Cook (132), senior Kurtis Loftis (138), senior Jordan Nolan (182) and senior JC English (285). Wrestlers ranked in the top ten include third ranked Jacoby Peterson (113), ninth ranked Coby Contreres (120), fifth ranked Zack Valez (138), second ranked Jake Lords (145), sixth ranked Dusty Jones (145), fourth ranked Tyler Jaramillo (152), second ranked Christian Brandon (160), third ranked Levi Perry (160), tenth ranked Brayden Shell (170), fifth ranked Cohlton Kesling (195) and fifth ranked Andres Rodriguez (220).
