Kuna’s new ambulance has been delivered after more than two years of planning and is now in service. The Apparatus Committee, Chaired by Chief Tillman along with members Battalion Chief McPherson, Captain Link, Captain Lawrence and Captain Charlton, began planning the purchase in early 2012. The proposal was presented to the Budget Committee and then approved for purchase in 2013. The new ambulance will replace a 1996 model that has been in service since 1997.
Due to the age and high maintenance costs of the two other ambulances currently in service (a 1997 and 2001) the District has budgeted for a second new ambulance to be purchased this year. The District provides Advanced Life Support ambulance transport service that responds to more than 750 EMS calls per year.
