Kuna Library is fortunate to have Taunya Campbell as a member of their staff. Her most outstanding characteristic has to be her cheerful smile!
Taunya was hired in December of 2012 as a Shelver. She very happily arrived each day and went about re-shelving books, putting them in their proper place as well as straightening them to look like soldiers standing at attention.
An opportunity arose for Taunya to help out with Story Times in the Children’s Room. She accepted enthusiastically and without hesitation. Not only did she benefit from the experience, the children and parents were delighted to listen to the wonderful stories she shared with them.
In the fall, Taunya was promoted to Program’s Assistant. She leads activities which include; seven story times per week, Fit and Fall, and Books on the Go. Taunya prepares the materials that are needed for the volunteer storytellers, writes articles for the library that are submitted to the Kuna-Melba News, and a variety of other tasks that are assigned to her by her supervisor.
Taunya has shown an interest in obtaining more knowledge in the subject of Library Studies. She participated in and completed ABLE (Alternative Basic Library Education). She has announced her desire to obtain an MLS (Master’s of Library Science). We applaud Taunya’s efforts and her passion to learn all there is to know about the Library World.
