A group calling themselves the Friends of Kuna School District has enough signatures to file for a recall election against Kuna School District Trustee Michael Law.
Having received permission from Ada County Elections to pursue a recall election, the group needed just 50 percent of the number of voters who participated in the last school district trustee election in Zone 4, the seat held by Law.
Terri Reno, a Kuna mom with three children who have graduated from Kuna and with grandkids entering the system soon, said that she has gotten the 29 signatures needed but wants to get a few more before filing the petition next week.
“Although he’s entitled to his personal opinion,” said Reno, “I don’t think a trustee should have printed and distributed brochures that were misleading.”
Once Ada County Elections accepts the petition and verifies the signatures, they will notify Michael Law of the recall. Law will then have five days to either resign or pursue the recall election that will be scheduled for August.
Law told KMN that he will fight the recall effort if it moves forward.
