Can you believe another week has gone by? Time just seems to fly. Remember when it used to take forever for a birthday or holiday to come? Now it’s here and gone before we know it!
Our condolences go to the Marvin Earl Blough and Lydia Rowen families in the losses of their loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. A luncheon will be held for the Rowen family at the senior center after the services on Saturday, March 22, around noon or whenever you’re ready for us.
Best wishes for a great birthday go to Marie Hoagland on the 20th, Thomas Benson on the 21st, Ruth Smith on the 26th, and Rhonda Huff on the 27th.
What would you like to see our senior center do for you? In the past few weeks, we’ve had the Property Tax Reduction, voting, exercises, cards, meals, and various other community meetings. But for those of you who only participate in the meals, there must be something in the back of your mind you would like to see happen. Please share that with us by calling 495-2168 or emailing to email@example.com. It’s your center – what would you like to do there?
Last Thursday the Melba Valley Historical lecture series had a great presentation by former Lt. Governor and Attorney General David Leroy about Abraham Lincoln and Idaho. We all learned something we hadn’t known before!
We’ve had great news related to the raffle for the Ruger 10-22 rifle that will be raffled May 3 during the Melba Fun Run and chicken dinner. Ticket prices have been reduced to $1 each or 6 for $5! And remember – you don’t have to be present to win!
Menus are as follows:
March 18 – Hot Cakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, fruit, juice, milk
March 20 – Sweet & sour pork, rice, stir-fry veggies, dessert, juice, milk
March 25 – Meat lover’s skillet, eggs, fruit, sweet things, juice, milk
March 27 – Swedish meatballs, pasta, green beans, dessert, juice, milk
Don’t forget that our meals are cooked on sight.
And just one final thing – a great big thanks to all our volunteers, our music people, and those who donate food (including Franz Bakery and the Idaho Food Bank) or other items to us and help in so many ways! We could make it without you, but it would be a lot harder and a lot less fun! Thank you all!!
