|Idaho Falls – The Republican Main Street Partnership PAC, one of the most out-spoken groups in support of Congressman Mike Simpson’s re-election bid, are heavily funded by liberal labor unions, according to recent news reports.
The Republican Main Street Partnership PAC has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from major labor unions such as Laborers’ Political League Education Fund, International Union of Operating Engineers and the Laborers’ International Union Of North America PAC.
A December National Journal article pointed out that, “Main Street says it has raised roughly $2 million total between its super PAC and an affiliated nonprofit group so far—and that means labor has supplied at least 20 percent of those funds.”
“This is yet another sign of how out of touch Mike Simpson is with Idaho’s conservative values and principles. The people of Idaho do not support the values held by these outside liberal labor unions. It is clear Simpson represents Washington DC more than the conservative people of Idaho’s second congressional district,” said campaign manger, Carrie Brown.
