The Kuna Senior Center will be closed Monday the 26th for Memorial Day.
Our PIE DAY last Friday was a huge success. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO BROUGHT PIES AND ICE CREAM. It warmed my heart to watch one of our seniors, (age 83), totally enjoying a piece of Razzleberry pie. She was definitely on cloud 9 and voiced pleasure many times over about having the type of pie she said she hoped for. There was plenty of pie for everyone, lemon meringue, razzleberry, apple, and peach. I may be forgetting some of the varieties, I’m not sure. It has been suggested that we have pie day once a week, others suggested once a month. Most likely it will be once a month, we will let you know.
The little second hand store at our center received some merchandise donated by local garage sales this past weekend. There are a couple of us who love yard sales so don’t be surprised if we visit yours to shop and to hand out one of our business cards. If you have items left over from your sale that you would like to donate, we are at the center Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. If you have some items you would like to donate but no way to deliver them, leave a message at the center and myself or another volunteer will get in touch with you and come to pick them up. PHONE (208) 922-9714. The Kuna Senior Center is a non profit organization, we will be happy to mail you a receipt for any donated items.
FRIDAY MORNING BINGO: Every Friday from 11:00 am – 11:50 am. The games are free, the prizes are miscellaneous items purchased and donated by our seniors, and/or donated from our little store. We have quite the variety to choose from. I actually won twice last week and picked out a bottle of lotion and a bedding plant. There is a prize for every winner! You do not have to be a member to play but you do have to be at least 18yrs. old.
FIELD TRIP: Thursday May 29th to the EAGLE SENIOR CENTER to join them for lunch. Our senior bus will leave our center at 10:30 am. Be sure to put your name on the sign up sheet that you will find at our front desk.
My Story: A police officer came to my house and asked where I was between 5 and 6. He seemed irritated when I answered,”Kindergarten”.
LIFE is too short to be serious all the time. SO, if you can’t laugh at yourself, call me, I’ll laugh at you!
