On June 9, news reports of an 11 pound rabbit that was discovered by two 12-year-old girls in a trash can close to Kuna Middle School made headlines on local television. We are happy to report that the large male rabbit, possibly a Flemish Giant or similar cross-breed, has found a home according to the Idaho Humane Society.
The girls heard a noise coming from a trashcan and discovered the rabbit, quickly reporting it the nearby Kuna police station. It was a hot day so, after Detective Marc Bowman determined it was a pet, he rescued it, gave it some water and turned it over to the Idaho Humane Society.
The Humae Society said that the owners of the rabbit never came forward but they had many offers of adoption after local news reported on the rescued buck.
