Kuna School Board Trustee Michael Law faces a recall election on August 26 for his position as the Zone 4 seat. The recall election, petitioned and spearheaded by Kuna resident Terri Reno, gathered enough signatures to be put on the August ballot. The vote is a simple yes or no to keep Law as school board trustee.
In question by those wanting a recall was Law’s involvement actively participating in campaigning efforts to defeat the supplemental school levy that failed in March. The Kuna school board then voted 3-2 in late March to hold another levy election in May. Both Law and Trustee Royleen Anderson, who has since resigned from the school board, voted against holding another election in May.
Law was involved in campaigning against the May election levy vote as well. Opponents claim that Law violated his ethical obligations as a school board member but Board Chairman Carl Erickson declined to pursue any investigation of ethics claims.
Only voters in Kuna School District zone 4 (pictured at right) will be eligible to vote in the recall election. Residents wishing to see if they are within the zone 4 district may visit adacounty.id.gov/elections/ and click on “Know Where to Vote” on the right hand side.
